Origin of Surah Fatiha
The most common view about its origin whether it is Makki or Madni is the view of Ibn Abbas that it is Makki, mostly said it is revealed in Macca and Madinah both. Some narrators said that this is the first Surah which was revealed as a whole on Muhammad(PBUH). This is the surah that comes first in Mushaf and also this is the first surah that is recited in every rakat of prayer. The Fatiha also originate from the word فَ تَ هَ which means to open and disclose.
